Kimberly Vaughn
Kimberly Vaughn comes to us via Knoxville, TN where she spent 12
very successful seasons coaching both boys and girls premier teams.
These teams ranged in age from U10 to U17. As a coach, she has seen
a great deal of success on the field on both state and national
levels. She moved to Lexington four years ago and has seen this
success continue.
The last two seasons her teams have been competitive nationally with
the best of the best. The team has garnered championships in several
top tournaments and this past year won the Kentucky State
Championship, advancing to the regionals held in Des Moines, Iowa.
The team finished the season advancing to the semi-finals and ended
up with a 2nd place finish in Region II and ranked 7th nationally
which was the best finish for any team in the history of Kentucky
girls soccer.
Kimberly, who holds a NSCAA National Youth Diploma and has 16 years
of coaching experience, brings a total team approach to the game,
putting her players and the team first and emphasizing the ‘we’ not
‘me’ approach. She has used her knowledge of the game and experience
to develop and prepare players for playing in the college ranks at a
variety of levels including top Division 1 programs. She has been
recognized as a ‘players coach’, committed to excellence, who can be
counted on both on and off the field.
She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the
University of Tennessee and now currently works full-time as an
Associate Executive Director for the YMCA of Central Kentucky. She
is single and lives with her two-year-old twins Jack Russell
terriers, Keegan and Oakley. She is very happy to be involved with
an organized, well-run club like CSC and looks forward to helping
the club grow and improve.
