![]() COMMONWEALTH SOCCER ACADEMY Commonwealth Soccer Club is proud to announce the start of the first session of the Commonwealth Soccer Academy. On November the 10th the first foot skills training session will begin operations at the Lexington Indoor Soccer Center located at the Champions Sports Complex. The Commonwealth Soccer Academy is the realization of what has been the goal of the Director Of Soccer Operations, Pete Akatsa. Director Akatsa realized during his duties as head coach for the Lexington Christian Academy men's soccer team and his years of coaching in youth select club soccer, that there is a need for specific foot skills training for all players in the Central Kentucky area With the additions of regionally and nationally recognized trainers Megan Skinner and Kimberly Vaughn to the Commonwealth Soccer Club staff, the qualified personnel necessary to teach specific foot skills has been realized. All competitive soccer players in the Central Kentucky area will now have the ability to improve their foot skills, preparing them for the rigors of select club soccer competition during their off season breaks at the Commonwealth Soccer Academy. Foot skill training is presently offered at the Commonwealth Soccer Academy for age groups U10 thru U17 in two eight week blocks of one hour a week sessions. The Academy will pause when the spring select soccer season begins and then resume after the spring soccer season is over for summer sessions. Goalie training sessions will also be offered at the Commonwealth Soccer Academy and are presently being organized by the staff of the Commonwealth Soccer Academy. Come and be part of the exciting and demanding foot skills training at the Commonwealth Soccer Academy!
